this am, i started up my macbook and the display is messed--the colors look blown out and bleed, and the icons/text are not fully visible...sorry for the poor description but its really strange. on startup the display is fine, but when it enters the desktop the weirdness happens. the screenshot comes out normal so i took a snap with a dig cam, so sorry for the poor quality....

Have you tried creating a new color profile from Displays preferences? From Displays preferences, select the Color tab, then click the Calibrate button on the right side. Walk through the assistant to create the profile and save it.

Go to System Preferences
Go to Displays
Display tab.
Is the Colors pop-up set to Millions?

Go to System Preferences
Go to Universal Access
Seeing tab
Display section
Is Enhance Contrast set to Normal?
