MacBook DVI to VGA, no sound!?

Hi. I recently purchased the DVI to VGA that apple sells on their website. The picture comes in great, but there is no sound! I tried the RCA cable that converts the headphone jack into the R,W,Y inputs onto the back of my television. I even checked 'System Preferences' and the output was specified for 'headphones.' I don't know if I plugged it into the wrong spot or anything, but any help would be appreciated.

You need to plug the audio from the computer into the same input area as the VGA cable for the sound to work.

All I notice there is a 'audio' input for one input, not multiple like the R,Y,W I thought I needed?
