Searched but didn't see any other threads on this. Has anyone done this update? It's supposed to get rid of the sound made by the DVD drive on startup and wake from sleep. On my late 2008 aluminum unibody MB it seems to work fine coming out of sleep but the sound is still there on restart. But the update doesn't show up at all in Software Update on my blackbook; I wonder why not.

Thanks for that. I don't know how I missed it.

What is "mc os"? Can you set the startup disk using the preference panel?
