Well, I have never had this problem and i thought I would post it here. My trash bin icon is showing that I have trash in it, but when I open it up and empty it, the icon remains the same, even though its empty. I have tried restarting, killing the dock, and searching the internet. None have helped. I posted a picture that explains the problem. It's not an edited photo to trick you. I need help please.

And if none of those work, you could always live with it. It's just an icon :)

maybe, you sent stuff from a usb drive to the trash, and ejected the usb before emptying the trash. I think that happened to me once. For some reason if you don't empty the trash, the usb has some hidden files or something that continues using the space of the files deleted.

Maybe you could try that ?

Thank you for showing me this thread. It actually was a Boot Camp XP problem I just repaired my C: drive in the partition and deleted the temp files.
