I have a 15" MBP late 2009. When just booted the fan speed is around 2000 rpm.

This is little noisy, specially if i sit by my self in a silent room. I think when i first bought my MBP I could not hear the fan noise when it was just booted.

Is there a way to make this fan noise disappear?

When your MBP was new its likely you didnt hear the fan (or you think you didnt hear it) because your previous computer was louder and you havent accustom to a quieter one yet.

Maybe. But don't you think it is likely that as the macbook ages, the fan noise gets lauder because of dust?

I assume that the fan speed is not able to go lower than 2000 rpm? So the increased noise is not because of increased fan speed.

Dust could be a factor, but when I took my then 3-year-old 2008 15" MBP for repairs, it had like zero dust on the fans, despite being under heavy use for its entire lifetime.
