So my MacBook's hard drive failed today. Without warning. I have a lot of stuff backed up on an external hard drive... formatted as a Mac drive. All of the other computers in the house are PCs. I can boot my Mac using the Leopard install CD. If I plug in the ext HD, will I be able to somehow transfer files to a USB Flash Disk or to PCs in the house over the network? Any other ideas for getting files off of the external hard drive?

You are a God. I'm having a hard time with .pages and .numbers files. I suppose I could just use my friend's MacBook for those.

There are certain files that are actually bundles with their own set of directories. Windows will just consider them as a folder instead of a file.

I hope you get your internal hard drive fixed soon so you can get up and running again.
