Hi Guys,

Got a bit of a dilemma here!

Currently i use a 2012 Macbook Pro with an i5 processor and 16gb ram.
I use it for editing photos, web surfing and a bit of Football Manager 2014.

For my Birthday i have received a...

Macbook Air 13 inch with i7 processor and a 256gm Hard drive and 8gb of ram.

Was a bit of a shock to get this as the thought hadnt even crossed my mind to replace my current laptop.

I'm not sure whether to keep the MBA or 'upgrade' to a MBP retina.

Can anyone advise?

Would the MBA cover all my needs?

Thanks in advance guys

Hello,

Based on what you said that you mainly do with your Mac Book, it sounds reasonable to think that the Air would be more than capable enough to handle the work load nicely.

The only reason for you to possibly go with the rMBP upgrade is for the retina screen. It sure does look nice when reading, editing photo's etc. But as far as that goes, the better CPU will also help when working with some filters and edits in your photo editing software.

If you need portability, then stick with the Air, it is great.

If you need better screen and resolution, go with the rMBP.

Good luck choosing!
