You will seriously regret the PowerBook. It will be obsolete a very short time after you buy it. Go down the path of reliability and get the MacBook. Or, if your intent on staying with the MBP look, scour for deals on ebay or whatever, even if it means doing some minor repairs. Soon everything will be all intel and your PPC will be useless.

I understand that you don't need serious power for basic computing and light gaming, but power is beside the fact. You need to know that your machine will be there for you in the future.

Also, graphics on MacBook aren't that terrible, especially if you are only doing light gaming.
 
alright i went with your guys' decisions.......i think i found a 2.0GHz intel core2duo black macbook for 700 dollars so i may go with that
 
Getting a G4 only makes sense as a secondary computer, not primary.
Unless you can't afford a new machine like me, Powerbook G4 800mhz and 1gb of ram, 80GB HD...I wish I could get something else.

In such a case, you really should wait until you can afford it, even if it takes a few extra months, as the payback will be a few extra years of usable life.
