MacBook iSight: poor response & framerate

Hello,

How good are the new Macbook C2D iSights supposed to be for response time/framerate? With nothing else running aside from Firefox, watching the camera in iChat or Photobooth, the lag is fairly noticeable. Is this normal? It also appears that I'm getting low framerates - motion is kinda choppy, even when I record a short clip in iMovie.

This is all in not-the-best indoor lighting, too - does the lighting influence this performance at all?
