MacBook iSight

After reinstalling Tiger today anytime I open Photobooth or try and use my iSight in iChat I get the "iSight is in use by another application" error, yet I've restarted, repaired permissions (doubt that helps) and closed everything multiple times.

I really can't afford a trip to the Apple Store so if I'm missing something could somebody please help me out?

If somebody here can help me you'd save me a trip and bugging/arguing with an Apple Store genius.

maybe installing developer beta operating systems screwed something up. Karma?

I would hope there's a better reason than that.
