My laptop is slowed down to a gr8 extend... starting up a website takes 2 mins... youtube version wud get stuck up every few mins... everything freeze out very often... literally become a first generation computer... even formatted everything but still the same... can some please guide me what can i do?

As of one someone just suggested me to upgrade my ram to 8gb and get an SSD drive... but i m not sure if thats gonna help

my confrigue are: 2gb ram, 120gb hdd, core 2 dual, snow leopard, mid 2009 macbook pro version with 2.25 processor
 
Since your two specific complaints are focused on activities that require an internet connection, are you using WiFi or Ethernet?

Up until recently I had a 13" mid 2009 MBP with the 2.53GHz processor. It didn't seem to have any issues like you've described, but I had upgraded the RAM to 8GB and upgraded to a 256GB SSD. I had also upgraded to OSX 10.8.
