Macbook Keyboard Swap

I got a late 2006 macbook c2d as a payment. It was running tiger but I updated it to run leopard. I am wondering If I can swap the top case (keyboard) for a newer model one. I want to have the itunes controls on the top. Has anyone done this or know if it works?

Later keyboard (V3 with no number lock) will work fine as long as you are running 10.5.....
