I would full agree with you if options 1, 2 or 3 were the options to take.
It's never ever a good idea to run electronics like this super hot and near their limitations, it will only end up shortening their lifespan, and in this case throttling their performacne due to design.
The whole device is Aluminium, and with a little more care and planning, and probably zero actual cost that heat could and should have been spread out over the aluminium housing.
I suspect so many reviewers pointing out how easy and cheap a sollution can be found to help cool the CPU/GPU which makes such a large differerence Apple will improve this error in future models.
