I would full agree with you if options 1, 2 or 3 were the options to take.

It's never ever a good idea to run electronics like this super hot and near their limitations, it will only end up shortening their lifespan, and in this case throttling their performacne due to design.

The whole device is Aluminium, and with a little more care and planning, and probably zero actual cost that heat could and should have been spread out over the aluminium housing.

I suspect so many reviewers pointing out how easy and cheap a sollution can be found to help cool the CPU/GPU which makes such a large differerence Apple will improve this error in future models.

For example?

It’s so easy for people to complain, but when called out to even suggest how they might solve the thing they’re complaining about, suddenly there’s crickets.

Or worse, when someone (me here) does suggest solutions the response is “nope none of those”, but still no alternative offered.

Like all the people complaining about the notch on the MBPs and MBAs. Not targeting you with this, but it’s just an example: “ok so what would you do instead? You know you can turn it off, right?” Response: “Eww no, thick bezels”. Well ok then, what’s the solution?!

Same here. I gave you three additional options, on top of the option Apple chose: no one who this is intended for will ever use it for things that will overheat and throttle it enough that it’ll make any noticeable difference to the performance of the pages and numbers documents, the web browsing and emails, etc. that they’ll be doing, or even some more intense stuff that YouTubers and other reviewers have thrown at it so far.

But ok, if you think Apple’s choice was the wrong one then…

…I ask again, what’s the actual real world practical experienced problem we’re trying to solve here, for the target audience, and what’s the actual real physical solution to this that won’t disappoint that target audience?

Lenovo added a hump atop the display for the webcam, which looks stupid.

As for thick bezels; I'm used to 'em. I used to use a //c and a Duo 230 to name a few computers with very large bezels. But to be completely honest, I never much even noticed.

The bezels on the 2300c were smaller but still pretty big.
