Why are macbook's no longer being sold online in the apple store
an only macbook pro's.

Yup, the likelihood is they will be back, maybe not for long though. Just long enough to show ARM capability in a small device.

Honestly the macbook air is the new macbook, up until arm. the macbookair fans are useless imo.
