Since when has a mac laptop not burned the living daylights out of legs?

my ibook G4 gets quite warm after a lot of intensive processor use, but never so hot that I can't use it on my lap, even for extended periods. I've owned 4 mac laptops (ibook G3 600 & 900, powerbook G4 12" 1 Ghz, ibook G4 1.33 Ghz) and none of them has ever been remotely hot enough to cause serious discomfort, let alone burn furniture.

People with these extreme temps - this is NOT normal behavior for a laptop. No part of a laptop should ever be too hot to touch with your bare hands. Don't stand for this! Take them back or demand a fix!

Moo!

Has anyone gotten an official word from an apple employee about the moo? I talked to some Geniuses, but they had never heard of it, and I couldn’t get my Macbook to moo for them so I went home empty handed.

I’ve heard that the same problem was fixed in the Pro with a software update. I would just like to hear this from an actual Apple employee, and not some message bard hammer-head (no offense).

I believe Apple is not calling them Laptop computers or was thinking about not calling them laptops, due to the heat issue, in any case they do advise from putting the computers on your lap, they do get very hot.
I have a MBP 2.2ghz SR, and I am not able to use it on my lap without a book or some other form of insulation between my leg and the computer bottom.
I would like to hear if the new unibody models have addressed the heat issue?

BTW my G4 1 ghz ibook did not bother me with heat, but i am bitter about the logic board going out on me after the recall ended. It was a good laptop and now it's worthless.
