Macbook October 14th?

The last I checked the macbook was rumored for the 14th. That's 2 weeks away, when are they going to announce it? It should be by the end of this week, if and only if they do release it October 14th.
 
October 14th is rumored to be the announcement date. It may or may not be released that day.
 
If ever there is an announcement, it should be on October 7th. They announce the event one week in advance so the media can make it.
 
I think depending on the update whether there will be a keynote or not. If it just the alu redesign and nothing else, I reckon it will be silent.

thats true. i never really realized that. clearly they are working on new macbooks for obvious reasons, but officially, apple hasnt announced anything...DAMN!

i dont think it will be silent. this is a whole re-design we're talking about, not just a little update (like earlier this year with the cores). and theres supposed to be something "special" under the hood of tha macbooks so...

The first Core Duo MacBooks appeared without an event.

"just the alu redesign"?!? "just"?!? Not saying they would have a special event, but this would be the most radical development since the MB's intro, right?
 
I don't think it will be a special event. There isn't so much to say, even if they redesign them and update the specs.
 
We dont even have legit pictures yet. Didnt i new ipod pictures come out about 2 weeks before the release?

you assume you haven't seen a legit picture yet... you just don't know if they're legit until the real thing is released

Since the iPhone/iPod Touch introduction. But yes....since the Macbooks and MAcbook Pros were released.
 
Not like we need ANOTHER "When are the new MacBooks coming out?" thread.

I heard about that too yes, not 100% sure.

Would be good, supposed to be updates to the Macbook and Macbook PRO i heard last time.

Was thinking on getting one, might wait a little longer

A LOT of people forget this... :rolleyes:

So I'll quote it to emphasize. People always say "when are the new MB/Pros coming out?" Truthfully, they might not come out at all. We may have to wait another year or two. They will be updated soon, but that's not the same as a redesign, or this "new" thing everyone refers too. While a lot of the rumors seem like they will be correct, they are still just that: rumors.
