Same, just likely how MS Word is coded. I will wait and see what Office 2016 brings

Q-6
What model do you have, Q-6?

I have a 1.1 and I've thought about moving up, but I'm not sure the gains to a 1.2 would be worth it and because I used a 10% discount on my 1.1, it's about a $500 jump to a 1.3. I've read the gains in lag are sleight (though I have to say I see a lot less people complaining about their 1.3 units). I also think that even if I upgrade to a 1.3, I'm still going to want to upgrade for gen 2 or 3 anyway, so I might as well save my $$ for then. The form factor is so amazing that I'm willing to bear the burden of being an early adopter. Further, while a lot of people are pointing out lag on the rMB, there actually seems to be a lot of complaining about lag across all Mac lines (at least all Macs with retina screens). This leads me to believe that this is more of a OS X problem than a problem with the hardware. I'm crossing my fingers OS X El Capitan (and even 10.10.4) clears some of this up.

I have a 1.2, 512Gb predominantly for the disk-space. Lag in the UI has existed with the Retina Mac`s for many users since Apple launched Retina Mac`s in 2012. It undoubtedly varies from model to model and the current consensus is it`s down to poorly optimised drivers on Apple`s side. 10.10.4 looks to be an improvement to the fluidity of the UI, and of course 10.11 is a significant overhaul of OS X focusing on stability & performance. Apple are completed to act as Windows 10 threatens to eat in to Mac sales.

I don't experience lag on my own portable Mac`s (12" 1.3 rMB, 13" 2.8 rMBP, 15" 2.3 rMB) unless I load them up significantly, once again this is very subjective and depends on many variables. You won't see significant gains between the Core M CPU`s and it`s safe to say if a 1.1 won't "cut it" for your usage/workflow it`s unlikely a 1.3 will either. Yes the higher clocked CPU`s are faster, equally it`s debatable given the "Burst" nature of the Core M and the NVMExpress enabled SSD. Personally speaking the performance margins are so close you would literally need all three variants in front of you to see the difference.

Another aspect is Core M will be a significant force in the market and Intel will develop it rapidly. Skylake is already looming, couple this with Apple`s less than reasonable upgrade pricing which significancy boosts Apple`s margin, the base model offers by far the best value for money. Ultimately I will upgrade my Mac`s to Skylake on release, which will bring significant benefits over Braodwell & Haswell, although computationally not a giant step.

In it`s current form (rMB) you need to be a little careful with your software selection and usage model, as a multimedia giant it`s not, equally in the role as a business ultraportable it`s very hard to beat, and the rMB does absolutely make a statement.
