I would say go for the MacBook Pro, as if you're doing graphics work then you will probably want a matte screen and that can only be had on the MacBook Pro. Also Aperture should run better on the MacBook Pro because it has a dedicated video card. The extra screen real estate and resolution is also very nice on the MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro is also not that much bigger than the MacBook and it does not weigh that much more.

Due to some financial issues, I have set a strict budget on which I will buy a notebook- $1800 (even that is a bit much). So, I could get the fully loaded White/Black MB or the bottom end stock MBP w/edu pricings on both. Gah... can't decide. If I go with the MB, I get 80 more GBs (great for holding RAW files), another GB of RAM (awesome for the upcoming Photoshop CS3), and if I want, I can get Aperture preinstalled on the MB for only $1820. Not bad, IMO. But the sweet stylings of the MBP call out to me... so does the video card and the bigger, matte screen.

I'd get a MacBook Pro then :)

You can get some more RAM and external HD later, but you cant upgrade a screen, casing or a GPU on the MacBook to the level of a MBP.

MB screen is just too small for any graphics work. Even my iMac's 1440x900 screen is small for Aperture.

Yeah wait for a good deal on a refurb 15" MBP. Don't worry about the processor speed, and if you can get a great deal on a Core Duo, do it. Then add 1 gig of RAM and get a cheap external monitor and keyboard.

My friend called and asked me to buy his Mac Pro for.... $1600!!! He said OS X just didn't work for him, so he was asking people to buy it. Of course, being the frugal shopper I am, bought it. It is basically the stock MP, with a 160 GB HDD and AirPort. I feel happy.:D

But... I still need a portable. Now with a Mac Pro, I can save some money and buy a MacBook. I'm still kind of in shock over this... it was definately an impulse buy, but a very good priced one.:)
