Go to newegg and get the best card you can afford.

My friend just bought this card and he loves it.

But there are many others as well. I am a Nvidia man but ATI/AMD makes some great cards.

The memory does not matter as much as the actual card processors.

The 8800 GTX is a faster card than the 9500 no matter the VRAM size.

I'm a noob at this. How will I know which cards are better? I'm looking for something in the $100 range i think. If I get a $200 card, I might as well get the 15 inch macbook pro, will my upgraded pc be that much faster then the macbook pro 15 middle?

Ok, so I'm thinking I'll get the 13 inch, and upgrade my pc graphics card. I'll use the 13 for web browsing and occasional video editing, if i need more screen space I'll plug it into my pc monitor. My pc has like 2ghz processor and 2gb of ram, what video card do you suggest to play crysis around high settings?

No offense, but this is incredibly stupid. I know you have your heart set on a new computer, but you will notice NO difference between your MBP and the MB for what you're going to be doing with it. They're really pretty comparable, to be honest.

I've opened computers hundreds of times and never had a single issue as long as I touched something metal to dissipate static.

If you upgrade your MBP there is no reason you shouldn't be able to use it for what you want to use a 13" for.

Save all that money and build your own computer. It's a fun project and you'll save a ton on a system that can actually play Crysis.

But hey, it's your money, so do what you want.

I read this article a few days ago.

Great write up for all price points of modern video cards.

I suggest doing some reading about PC parts. It is actual fun to know what is in your computer.

An example:
Your processor plus a $100 card will not run crysis at all high settings. It will run it a medium settings and look good and be very playable.

Max out the MBP with everything apple has to offer and it will still not look as good as your $100 upgrade to your PC. The MBP is not a gaming laptop. Most laptops are not good for gaming.

I'm doing it for the better build quality, battery life, portability, some performance, and because I need the latest and greatest tech. That last thing is just me, I can't resist it.

Ok, I can deal with medium. What card do you recommend?

For $125 you can't go wrong with this card:

Only problem is that it is always sold out at newegg.

If you are strict with that $100 price point the best card is

or

I prefer the XFX card

For $150 there is no better card than

For your future building needs always follow a simple rule I stick with during all my builds.

Price of CPU=Price of video card

simple stuff

Ok, so with the 150 card I should be able to play at least medium settings right? Thx for the help btw.

Actually the XFX card for $110 is a steal and you might be able to push some high settings with that card.
