Considering buying Macbook Pro 13'' 2016.
Most of the time run Windows 10 on Parallels Desktop.
Is i7 a good option to spend $300+?

Not on a dual core machine, I think you'll be better off putting that money towards more ram which virtualized apps tend to want.

Yep Maflynn Has the right of it there more cores will help for VMs and more ram but a higher clock speed and a little more cache will make very little difference....

Yeah, no cache increase for the 13". The difference between the 13" i5 and i7 is ONLY clock speed. Nothing else. Not worth it. If you want a little more CPU speed, the upgraded i5 (+$100) is way better value. If you need more than that, your only real option is the quad core 15".
