Maybe someone will find the following information useful. I tried to measure how fast is my new Macbook Pro 13/i5/16GB RAM compared to other Macbooks Pro.

As a benchmark I used compilation of https://github.com/google/santa-tracker-android (commit: 2e316ae and the following gradle command: ./gradlew clean santa-tracker:assembleDebug)

The results:

MacBook Pro 13” 2018 (i5/16GB RAM)
Total time: 1 mins 59.381 secs
Total time: 1 mins 47.974 secs
Total time: 1 mins 51.738 secs
Total time: 1 mins 50.464 secs
Total time: 1 mins 53.142 secs

MacBook Pro 15” 2014 (base i7/16GB RAM)
Total time: 2 mins 15.447 secs
Total time: 2 mins 6.935 secs
Total time: 2 mins 1.661 secs
Total time: 2 mins 2.499 secs

MacBook Pro 13” 2016 (touchbar i5/8GB RAM)
Total time: 3 mins 17.54 secs
Total time: 2 mins 59.405 secs
Total time: 3 mins 7.145 secs
Total time: 3 mins 6.106 secs
Total time: 3 mins 3.665 secs

Excellent work! Let's see if anyone can contribute 13" i7 2018 and 15" i7 2018 data for same task.

What do multiple total times represent? Multiple runs, passes of the gradle build or ??
Yes, I run the builds couple times, but the results were consistent. (And I always removed the first one on each computer, because it involved downloading the dependencies and was significantly longer - about 1 minute for each computer).
