Hi, I am writing from italy, sorry for my english.
I have a question for you guys.
At the moment I am using my Windows desktop for full HD video editing (not professional, only for fun). This is my pc: i5 4690k, 16gb DDR3, R9 270X and SSD Samsung 840 evo.
The next year I would like to buy a MacBook Pro 13/15 for my projects but the cost is very hight and i want to understand wich model is the best solution for me.
At the moment i am using Adobe Premiere Pro CC but i want to learn Final Cut Pro.
For example:
2.3GHz dual-core 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor
Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory
256GB SSD storage1
Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640
Two Thunderbolt 3 ports

Or this:
3.1GHz dual-core 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor
Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz
8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory
256GB SSD storage1
Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650
Four Thunderbolt 3 ports
Touch Bar and Touch ID

The question is: are those two models more/less powerfoul than my pc?
An alternative is the 15" version:
2.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor
Turbo Boost up to 3.4GHz
16GB 1600MHz memory
256GB SSD storage1
Intel Iris Pro Graphics
Two Thunderbolt 2 ports

Of course this is the best solution, but with the 13" i can save a lot of money.

Thank you for your help

If you really want the 13 inch, I'd go with the the 256 GB SSD at least and 16 GB or 8 GB RAM. With FCP you'll realize rendering times will be a lot faster even with lesser hardware. However, I do suggest getting the 15 inch if you plan to do any serious editing with multiple time lines, color correction, motion graphics and all that.

Thank you for your reply.
Are you talking about the 15 inch with Radeon graphics and the touch bar or the 2015 15 with Intel Iris Pro Graphics?

Definitely the 2016/2017 ones with Radeon graphics. The 2016/2017 13 inch even has Iris Pro graphics, a newer version than the 2015 15 inch one.

Unless you really need the portability, I think you'd do better with a 27" iMac, properly equipped.

Ok thanks, in this case the price is even higher.
I will wait the new models and then i will buy the 2017 version, if the price will decrease.

Yes, i'm looking for a portable computer.
