Ok!(whew!!)

But where can i find these log files??...i want to delete them and see whether it changes something!

In Finder, select Go To Folder (Shift-Command-G) and enter /private/var/log
That will take you to the log folder. Use Command-A to select all the contents, then Command-I to Get Info. That will tell you how much space is used by most of the log files.

You can also do a Finder search for " " and add the criteria as shown below, to find log files anywhere on your Mac. After the search, use Command-A to select all the search results and Command-I to Get Info and determine the size of all the log files.

If you are using Apple's Mail client I'd make sure it isn't saving your email locally. Can free up a lot of space by just keeping it on the mail servers.

To do this open Mail preferences, go to Accounts then Advanced. Select "Don't keep copies of any messages". You'll have to do this for every account you have setup in their Mail client. It can free up a ton of space if you have been having Mail keep copies locally.

The log folder contains 36 documents and 11 folders(including 2 folders marked with a small no entry sign) but the size of all the 47 items together is only 39.6 MB..it's pretty clear that they are not the cause of the problem!

Did you restart after changing it? I'm not sure if it will clear out immediately after disabling local storing or not. Then again if you don't have much email it won't really make a difference.

You can also use Monolingual to remove unwanted languages and architectures, which may buy you another GB or two. Be careful when you use it and think about what you're deleting. If you're not sure, ask questions here.

I already used cleanmymac to remove all the unwanted languages!

Thnx for advices man!
Appreciate your concern!

So your drive is still very close to full to capacity. This is why both grawk and I suggest that you spend less than 50 quid, get a new drive and gain at least 160 GB of free space.

B

Right but damn i dont want to lose my HDD, i mean i still can use it! it's not dammage or anything!Normally i should have 13 to 14 GB free on my HDD! the only problem is that little by little i'm losing these free spaces and i don't know why!! I just want to know why is this happening!

The pathology of the problem suggests it's your page file. You can't get rid of that, tho it's possible to isolate it with a LOT of work. As to not "losing" the hard drive, you can get a package from a number of retailers that includes the new drive, and a usb case for the old drive. You migrate your image, then put the old drive in the usb case and the new drive in your system, and reformat the old drive and now you have a handy little portable drive to use for whatever you want. Nothing at all lost.

Yeah that sounds a nice idea!i was thinking of buying an ext. HDD anyway!
if i migrate my image to the new HDD, everything will be the same as on my previous HDD right!!?..

Hope you don't mind me asking all these questions, i just want to know/learn!

Yes, you can migrate to the new drive without anything being different.
