Hey Guys

hope you can help me out , specially current owners of the 13 macbook no touchbar (specially the 2017 model)

I am thinking to pull the trigger on one of these machines but read a few reviews around the net that say this model fan (when it does kick in) can have a very high pitch annoying sound.

if that is the case its indeed a major deal breaker for me as i am very sensitive to this kind of stuff (sold my MSI GS60 recently because the fan was too loud)

would love to get some feedback about this as besides the fan issue - it looks like the perfect machine for me

Thanks in advance!

Obviously any computer with a fan is going to make a noise when the fan is in use, i.e. under heavy load. I can't say I've heard of any issues regarding fan noises being high pitched. The best thing to do is buy one and see, don't believe everything you read on the internet (Including this post).

Good luck!

I've been using my NTB 2017 for a couple weeks now. 13".

24 tabs open, safari and chrome, iTunes going, youtube going, blue tooth headphones on...Charging my phone. basic photoshop going....Inside (75 degrees) and I've never heard my fan come on.

Hi,

I have the model in question and can tell you the fan isn't as bad as people make out.

This is the video I recorded of the fan at max speed:

thank you very much for that!

while the fan might not be extremely loud in your recording , it does have that "high pitch" sound people were writing about , which i am not a fan of
