When are they going to come out with a new processor for this machine? I have a 3 year old Macbook that has a very similar processor and am surprised/disappointed that they haven't upgraded to i3 or such. Should I expect a change to such a processor soon or should I bite and buy the new Macbook Pro 13' now?

Nobody knows, but probably not for a while (if ever). Don't hold your breath for an i3 or better.

And anyways, putting an i3 in the current 13" wouldn't have been a very wise choice: there would be only the integrated Intel GPU, since there is not enough space for both the Nvidia chip and the controller.

Well my current processor is the 2.16ghz Core 2 Duo. I feel that these two would still be fairly similar, but would I see a significant improvement in the performance? Also, is there any way I can find out the specific model # of these processors so I could compare them? (Core 2 Duo E6600 for example)
