Have you ever used an SSD on your main machine before? I've never met anyone who used an SSD that reverted back to a standard HDD. The speed difference is just too significant. Yes it does suck having such a small amount of space in comparison to a HDD, but once you realize you don't need to store everything on your drive it doesn't become such a problem.


The things I have installed I need. My big files are games downloaded from Steam which I can not conveniently store on an external hard drive. For me hard drive size is much more important than speed. Ideally I would like both, of course.

Consider me as one of them.

I went to a Hybrid drive on my home machine because SSD is too small for the $ for me (I need at least 500gb, preferably more), and I don't want to faff about managing storage.

I have SSD at work so I regularly am exposed to both SSD and Hybrid HD and i am happy with the hybrid.
