Hi Guys -

Just got the new Macbook Pro 13 w/TB. I am noticing an issue with the Down Arrow on the Keyboard. The force necessary for the down arrow key to respond consistently is much more than is required for the up arrow key. The left and right arrows work with ease, but for some reason the down arrow requires significantly more force. Can anyone else test this? I did so in an Excel spreadsheet, and also notice issues when pressing the down arrow while web browsing.

Thank you very much, this forum has been a great resource for me over the years.

I had an issue with my delete key, where it was not working as good as others.

I was told by another member to do a reboot and it fixed my issue. how? I don't know but it works.

Thanks for the tip but that didn't fix it. Can anyone else quickly test the functionality of the Up Arrow vs. Down Arrow? Thanks.

There have been some consistency issues with these new kinds of keyboards. On my rMB they eventually broke in and are more consistent now than when it was new. Also, with so little travel any dust or dirt behind the key will noticeably change the response of the key.

I have this same issue on my 13 inch with TB. The up arrow key has to be smashed too hard to register. You can take the key off easily by just prying it off. It looks all fine and normal. I bet the part is slightly flawed and just doesn't press down right. Since others have the same issue I think I won't ask for a replacement right now.

(So far AppleCare has been oblivious of this as a known issue.)

I have the same issue; brand-new late-2016 13" Macbook Pro TB. Up/Down arrow keys "click" but only register a keypress about 60% of the time. They work 90% of the time when you press precisely in the center of the key -- only about 30% of the time when you press off to the left or right side. AppleCare isn't aware -- they shipped me a new one, but now I'm concerned that this is an issue with all of them.
