Hi everyone,
My 6 years old Windows laptop decided to die last week and I wanted to buy a 13'' Macbook pro (2017) this summer, but I just can't decide between tb or ntb model (both with 256gb).
I'm a med student, who uses the laptop to take notes and study. I also use it for media streaming (spotify, netflix, sky go) and general web surfing. I'm also interested in a little bit of light gaming, that was impossible with my previous laptop.
I wanted to know whether I might be able to see any significant difference in terms of performance, battery life and future proofing between the tb and ntb model.
I'm not particularly interested in having the touch bar, but I could use the Touch ID and the extra ports (not a necessity though).
Furthermore, since I would really like to keep this laptop for the next 5-6 years, do you think it could be useful to upgrade the ram to 16gb?
p.s. I've already looked for offers in my country (Italy) and I've found out that 2016 models come at the same price as the 2017 ones, upon which I can use the Educational discount.
