I received the pro 14 in dark grey, but returning it just to get silver, even tough i have to wait 3 weeks. i am coming from always silver macbook pros and gray makes me feel like i am working on another brand intel laptop... the fun goes away. I am sure it is because i am moving from an early 2015 silver macbook pro

IMO either color looks fine in 14", but on 16" the amount of silver is really super shiny and bright and the touchpad is a slightly different color.

I still went silver for 16" just because i don't trust the space gray anodization for long term use, but otherwise would have done that.

I was on the fence as I have always had silver (coming from 2015 15") and would typically prefer the darker option, but I was reading that the contrasting keyboard and logo makes the silver option a lot more appealing this time around.

I sprung for a silver 16" and am really happy with it. I watched a movie in pitch darkness and the 'shininess' didn't bother me at all. The silver looks better to me in really bright environments, too. I think the space grey looks too warm. I could barely tell it was space grey at all when I saw them at Best Buy.

I hope Apple comes out with like a slate grey or that new midnight color in the future.

Yup go with what you like! Silver is the safer choice anyway. I think the shininess for me was the biggest issue in the Apple store where there was tons of daylight shining in. It's really not a big deal.
