Macbook Pro 15: Battery empty quickly

I just bought a MacBook Pro 15. This i my first Mac, now seems the battery empty very quickly. How can i see this, my Ipad battery stays much longer. MBP battery 4 to 5 hours, IPAD much longer,can anyone tell me what to do. Or let me know if this is normal after using the MBP, i watch You Tube use Safari and that,s it.
