Macbook Pro 15 in Retina Fan

So I have the macbook pro 15 inch retina display, 16gbp ram 512 ssd....model and I was wondering about the fan! I started editing some videos of mine and all of sudden the fan turned on but it was really loud and fast...is that normal?

Where was it placed? On a table? On your lap?

It was on my messy bed.... i did eventually move it to a table...

Did the fan return to normal after it was moved to a table? Was the computer hot to the touch?

It's perfectly normal. When you edit videos, you use up CPU power. Video editing can be CPU intensive and it's only normal if the fans spin to the max. I'd be worried if it didn't spin to the max, because it could mean that the fan might have failed and this could melt my CPU.

it's normal...even you put it on table, maybe loud of fun just "less".

Yes it did return to normal...it would go up again when i started editing a lot again...
