MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017), can't upgrade to Monterey?

check your firmware, make sure that is updated.
what are we running now, Sierra?
 
Is it worth updating to Monterey, or should I stick with High Sierra. Pros vs Cons ?

MOJAVE is great, Catalina is good, High Sierra was not nice with my MacBook air or mini.
BigSur and Monterey will work well on your macbook pro tho.
try to install all of these and back up each one, if possible and save the one you like and plays well with your programs.

I had Mojave on my 2017 15” MBP. I went to the mac app store and searched for Monterey and I was able to install macos monterey just fine on the MBP.
