I have a macbook pro 15" mid 2012, running Mavericks 10.9.1 with 8gb of RAM. I should also note that I replaced the optical drive with a caddy and moved my 750gb default HDD to that bay, installed a 120 Gb SSD with the operating system into the original drive bay. System specs:

Other things to note, I had this ram issue twice, where my system would crash without warning then restart with a black screen and three beeps. I googled what this meant, so I know it is a memory issue. I reset the PRAM and SMC and it booted like normal. Things were stable for a few weeks and then it did it again. Finally I contacted apple, had a genius bar appointment and they took her in for diagnostics. Determined that the memory was not the issue (I understand they can't fix issues on the hard drives as these were my modifications). This morning, the day after getting my macbook back from Apple, it crashed with the three beep chime again. I have reset PRAM and she's running but I want to know what other possible causes for this could be?
