    Hi all,

I'm currently using a 2.0 GHz MacBook and have been looking to upgrade to a 15" MacBook Pro (2.53 GHz, 9600M) or a 17" MacBook Pro.

I'm just so confused about these 2 models, I would love the large screen of the 17", especially because it has a really great resolution. But the 15" keeps pulling me back because of the updated graphics card (9600M vs. 8600M in the 17")

I'm not a serious gamer, I only play WoW and plan on playing Starcraft 2 and Diablo III. Do you think the 17" will be able to handle Starcarft 2/Diablo III when they're out? What about the 15"?

I mainly use my Mac for some photography and school work.

I realize its far too early to speculate about Starcraft, but based upon Blizzard's history, do you think the 17" or 15" will be able to run these game?

    Please advise!

Based on Blizzard's history, SC2 would probably run on a $400 netbook. Both the 8600M and 9600M will both be more than capable of running SC2 & Diablo 3.

Anyway, there isn't a very significant difference between the 9600M and 8600M since they are both based on the same architecture. The 9600M outperforms the 8600M by about 15 - 20%. This isn't really a significant boost.
