Does anyone have any thoughts on the pros/cons on a 7200 RPM drive over a 5400 drive? I'm looking to purchase a MBP 15" in the next couple of days.

Thanks!

7200 RPM drives will run a little hotter than a 5400 but you will get better performance from the 7200.

There are lot of threads on this here

If you use MRoogle, you will find a lot of information

I opted for the Scorpio Blue 500 GB 5400 over the 7200

Not necessarily... Here is a review comparing the Blue and the Black and other issues as well

the scorpio blue does do an incredible job keeping up with the 7200rpm drives. the benchmarks i have seen show it lagging behind a bit in big block writes but other than that it does a good job keeping up.
