how did you OC the shader ? the MSI tool doesn't support shader in this instance. Rivatools are way too old - or did it work for you ?

at first i was using riva tuner but my overclocked settings were not saved everytime i restarded win7 ( i had to re-enter the settings everytime which was very annoying)

so, with latest driver + modedninf from laptopvideo2go (267.32) i was able to play starcraft 2 on extreme settings very smooth at 30-45 fps.

i just pumped up the shaders to 1500mhz instead of 1430 (and 1100 originally) and my temp remained the same (about 65-78C) no fans kicking in or anything. very happy with my gt330 :)

unfortunately for me, i have no use with the ati 6750 because i cannot use the desired drivers i need to oc max.
but its been proven its a very good gpu (better than stock gt330, but maybe equal to an overclocked 330)

so yeah, keep it mind it depends what you prefer ati or nvidia. for me nvidia has been providing support drivers and power performance all along the product cycle life.

the best solution to keep up with gpus as i said earlier is with Vidock. but you need a 4.1 gen macbook pro to use it.

P.s : i dont use riva tuner anymore but the nvidia settings when you right click and select performance to play with clock settings. then you create a profile so that when system boot up ur settings remain.

Would the 6750m be able to handle the Witcher 2?
The requirements state that a Nvidia GF 8800 512MB is needed, would the 6750m be around that?

I played with 700/900 settings at L4D, Borderlands and The Witcher, at hi-res max details anis 16x and AA 2x, very smooth, these new mbps are very powerful indeed!

Max temp 80-81 C, the fan was at about 80%

how did you measure the max temp? I only get bizarre GPU temp readings under Windows.

I use GPU-Z, it offers a pretty good measure, even if when you alt-tab the temperature drops very quickly and you have to check the temp in 5 10 second tops.

I am impressed by this MBP, it is a true powerhouse when you need it, but under mac os and with the intel 3000 you can have a very good battery life

I agree that it's a powerhouse. I'm using just a small OC (700/900) and every game I've thrown at it plays smooth as butter. I remember trying to run Fallout New Vegas on my 330M (which was also OC'd) and the game laughed at it. but this 6750M goes toe to toe with the game on Medium settings at 1920x1200!

No complaints here. This GPU does everything I need it to do.

Hello everyone!

So, i've been doing a lot of testing, as I normally do, and I am happy to report that we do have drivers that will install for us!

http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=340227

One little caveat is that they are still a preview build. However, they have direct support for the 6000 mobile series and installed without a hitch. I am going to do more testing for the actual performance of the drivers very soon.

I use the new Catalyst 11.4 Beta as well, so far pretty good results, will, i am curious though, does anyone here have the performance tab in the catalyst control center ? Without it the Catalyst looks somewhat incomplete...

does the built in OC works in these drivers ?

Noob OC-question

Hey, one quick noob question.

If OC'ed in Win7 will it retain this boost in OSX?

Is the ATI 6750m better than the ATI 4850m (iMac Late 2009)?

Hello everyone,

I would like to know whether I should switch from my iMac late 2009 (i7, 8GB Ram, 4850m, 1TB HDD) and my MacBook Air 13" Best Specs to the new MBP 15"?! I would like to know whether the 6750 is faster than the 4850 or not?! I think the 4850 is faster. What do you think/know?!

Thx for the help!

I have browsed the web (google 'notebookcheck 6750m') and jumped to the conclusion that it is able to par with it (maybe even better!). If you're a fan of the 27" display, stick with your iMac a while longer.

I am not a professional, but I think I know my way around CPU's, GPU's and stuff... Correct me if you can!!! :)

no way. last rivatuner update:
2009-08-23 13:47:39

it's way too old. doesn't even support W7
Bull**it
Rivatuner 2.24 works very well under Windows7 32/64Bit
also works with ATI 6750 because the 6750M based on the RV770 Core (look at www.notebookcheck.net )

Stock Rivatuner 2.24 wont work with 6750 but if u edit the .ini and add the Card to the RV770 Part it works like a charm.

GeForce 330m GT even overclocked like hell will never catch up with Radeon HD 6750.

3D Mark Vantage GPU score :
GeForce 330m GT : 1915
Radeon HD 6750 : 4444

By the way, 3D Mark 06 is out of date (5 years old), some tests rely more on CPU than GPU and GeForce 330m GT only supports DirectX 10.
