Macbook Pro 16 - Built-in Webcam stops being detected

Hi!

Well I mine as well join the "macbook pro 16 - do you have this problem to" thread....

I use my webcam on my 16 in pro daily for work on Zoom. Everything seemed ok at first but now my builtin camera just stops working entirely and stops even being detected from system profiler. A reboot solves this problem and the camera shows up again.

Shocking that in 2019 we still have issues like this. Anyone else have this problem? Any tricks that doesnt result in reboots?

I do feel this is a pure software issue too. Not a hardware one.

Try resetting the SMC to see if that cures it. If not, it's time to make an appointment at your local Genius Bar.

Is the issue only with Zoom? Might be a problem with thier software and the webcam.

Issue is with all apps including Facetime where the camera stops showing up. I will try the good ol SMC reset other wise I guess its a genius bar visit.

I believe it is the zoom software causing your issues.
