Resolved MacBook Pro 16 M3 MAX vs M4 PRO

Hi,

I’m trying to decide between two options and would really appreciate some advice. Both have 48GB of RAM. The M3 Max has a 16-core CPU and 40-core GPU, while the M4 Pro has a 14-core CPU and 20-core GPU.

I can get either one for the same price. I’ll mainly be using it for music production (lots of VST instruments, etc.).

I’ve heard that the Max can get quite loud under heavy load—is that true? Is it noticeably louder than the Pro?
