Hey guys, I just noticed a 2mm scratch in my screen - I don't know how it could have happened as it's only being used at home. Does anyone have any recommendation for product to fix an issue like this?

I don't really feel like replacing the retina for a small scratch but at the same time I do work with Photoshop and I'm not going to lie it's quite annoying!

I saw a bunch of creams products on Amazon are they reliable?

Many thanks for the help

I'm guessing, but a new screen would be well over $500, maybe closer to $1000. I'd live with the scratch. The main issue with creams is that they may work by trying to lightly scratch over the area and thus smooth out the harsh lines of the original scratch. This could well remove a patch of anti-glare screen coating.

If it were me, I'd live with it for a week before deciding to do anything. My brain might start to blank it out.

I'm more worried about resell value as I usually sell my laptop before upgrading to a new one.
Wouldn’t hurt to give apple a call, you might get someone who’s having a good day, might get it fixed for free.

Got nothing to lose.

Wouldn’t even think about using cream on the screen, you’ll end up making it 10x worse if the cream removes the anti reflective coating.

I have a scratch on my screen in my 2014 and I know the reason. It results in the area being displayed a little brighter. I generally don't notice it. Life happens to laptops too.

I had this happen on my Titanium PBG4. Tiny scratch in the middle of the screen. Still have no idea how it happened. Drove me crazy until I sold it.

I know how mine happened. I took off my wedding ring and left it on my laptop (I'd never lose it there). Then tried to close the cover at the end of the day but realized something was in the way. I had pressed hard enough to make a small dent in the screen and put pressure in the display so it's a bit brighter than the rest of the display.

I have had laptops with bad pixels before (this was back in 1990 and 2000 when display quality wasn't as good) and I just lived with it. They didn't have a bad pixel guarantee on the base model though you could purchase a pixel guarantee - if there's a bad pixel, they'd take it back and give you a new one.
