MacBook Pro 16" + Single External Monitor Setup

Hello guys,
I'm in the process of upgrading my development environment.
What are your thoughts on the following setup?

I'm a web developer, and my primary needs are a screen with my code editor and another to live preview during the development.

I plan to use the MacBook Pro 16" to run the code editor and the external monitor for previewing (set-up, as shown in the image)

I currently run a desktop machine with a single curved 38" Dell monitor (more than a year). I don't like this setup since the 38" monitor is similar to having 2 x 24" monitors. I miss having a single main/central monitor to focus on. Currently, I tilt my head left and right all day.

I've also used triple monitors setup in the previous years, but it was too much distraction, so I switched to mentioned dell monitor.

I have a dual monitor setup for my Windows PC, but I use just one of the two with my Mac as an external display. The monitors are on a dual monitor arm, so they are not taking up any desktop real estate, which leaves room for accessories such as my audio board, Stream Deck, etc. Granted, my setup is more of an exception to the norm than the rule, but that is what works for me personally. One thing you could try with your current setup before deciding to replace that 38" monitor is to set a black background and then make your preview window only take up the half of the external monitor closest to your Mac's position. That should (in theory) reduce the need to turn your head from right to left as there would be just blank space on the other half of the monitor.

I'm a software engineer. I find the 16" built-in display at the default scale to be way too small for my taste when using IDEs (JetBrains IDEs and Visual Studio Code) so I have scale set just to the left (1536 x 960) of "Default". However, my primary monitor is a 5K Studio Display w/ an old 2K Thunderbolt Display next to it. While not the same form factor, the visible display screens on the two line up perfectly.

If its any help, I run a similar arrangement to your image but with an LG 5k Ultrafine on top and a 16" M1 Max below.
Both run at native resolution so the text is very small (especially on the 16" with its higher DPI), and I have lots of screen real estate (up to 150 rows in view on a spreadsheet) and moving the mouse from the one screen to the other is easier due to the closer match in pixels.
Mainly work on the top screen (CAD & large spreadsheets with 5 or so workspaces) but have a large amount of workspaces (±16) on the lower screen with email, pdf views, finder etc in each workspace. If I need to work on say an email I simply flick it to the top screen and work on it there.
With this arrangement I don't have to turn my head to the side and I mainly work on the LG with a straight neck.
