I've just received new NEC MultiSync LCD2690WUXi2-BK. NEC display connect and is perfectly detected by MacBook Pro but the max resolution available for NEC display is 1920 x 1080. That is strange because NEC native resolution is 1920 x 1200 same as my MBP. When the two are connected my laptop shows 1920 x 1200 and NEC shows only 1920 x 1080 with no possibility to go up with resolution. What is more there is also NEC dialog box info displayed that I should use a native resolution 1920 x 1200 ;) but I can't !

ps.
I've used Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter not a Mini DisplayPort to DVI because I'm still waiting for one to arrive. I don't think this could be a reason for this error.

I'd appreciate Your help,
przemek

I think you need the MiniDisplayPort to DVI to get the higher resolution. I have a Samsung 26" monitor with the MDP to DVI connection and get the same resolution as my 17" MBP (1920X1200)
