Absolutely!

Lets get em back on the PROsumer market option for the most premium price for the most powerful and productive monster ever, again yes !

I just want a thin, 17" MacBook Pro (doesn't have to be Retina).. that is user upgradeable and has a high end GPU.

I'd be okay even with non-retina 17"

I see some of them going for around £1000 on eBay.

Holy crap. Are you guys serious? Nobody bought the 17" behemoth before so what's going to change to reverse that? A MBA17? You can make it as thin as you want but the overall dimensions will still be based on a 17" display.

Holy crap. Are you serious? Nobody? Everybody I know and work with owns one. I own 2!!!

I use a 17" MBP at work, and d*** around with C# on my girlfriend's 13" retina MBP, and the 17" is better is almost every non-form-over-function way imaginable.

Exactly.

My God, I just looked at SOLD listings for a 2.5Ghz BTO 17" MBP, a couple went for over $3k last month - and they weren't even as loaded as mine is!

I can't even say how tempting that is to sell mine for $3000. Sheesh.

I think Apple will release a 17" MBPr at some point. Too many PROsumers used it and I think it would make for a great upgrade.

The 17" MBP sold way better than the Mac Pro so I would not be so quick to dismiss it.

Very happy you say so.

Unless you have some proof, that's just speculation. As of now, it's dead.

I'd pull a Jim Dalrymple and say "nope", but then I'd get my comment deleted and another BS private message from the "mods" telling me I can't use a one-word answer because apparently it'd crash the entire forum and even the internet! So instead I'll say this: As of this very instant perhaps, but all I can say is it is indeed not permanently dead.

The name's Henry and no, it's not.
Your age is showing. The "reference" went right by you. :)

Ok. If it will help I hope the 17" MBP comes back. Whatever. It won't cost me anything nor did it ever hurt my wallet when it was produced.

But hang on to the ones you have now. Pack 'em up real nice. In 50 years who knows... $500,000 at auction.

I wish I still had my Apple ][.

Got the Trek reference just fine. I'm an optimist, not a doctor! And glad I've still got my Apple ][
