MacBook Pro 2.66GHz Intel Core i7 with 16 GB RAM?

The specs say that it can support 8 gigs max, has anyone tried/succeeded in putting in more?

As the chipset used in 2010 MBPs does not support more than 8 GB RAM, there is no need in trying putting more into it.
