Macbook pro 2007 2.16. Video artifacts

Hi, when i start my macbook, a lot of small video artifacts appears, like striped rectangles... Then the Apple logo disappear and the screen turns grey, without rectangles.... But os doesn't start.

What should i try to' fix the problem? Is that a video card related problem??

sounds like a bad logic board (video card) , do you know if you have a X1600 or a 8600GT video card?

if it is the 8600GT apple will replace it up to 4 years out of warranty.

Graphics card failure. Try to run Apple Hardware Test from discs packaged with your MBP.

if i run mac os X in safe mode there's no video artifact! i'll try diagnostic in a minute...
