Hello,

My specs:
MacOS Sierra 10.12.6
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011)
2.3 Ghz Intel Core i5
Memory 8 Gb
Intel HD 3000 512 MB

I've just purchased a new SSD 1TB hard drive and more memory 16Gb. I will install it at the beginning of next week.

I'm planning to carry on with music editing in Logic, Ableton and I would like to get a Final Cut Pro.

My questions are the following:
Is it possible to update my system version (High Sierra?)? If yes, which one should I go with and where can I find it?
I need software for video editing, I was considering to get a Final Cut Pro, but I guess I can't purchase the latest version from Apple Store. What can I do about it?

Many thanks for any help xxx

You can upgrade the macOS. The maximum Apple supported macOS for your early 2011 MBP is High Sierra (10.13.6).
You can find it in the High Sierra link:

I can't answer about Final Cut Pro.
