If the new MBPs really will be available next week, wouldn't the current ones be getting scarce by now? But they all seem to be available to ship immediately at store.apple.com.

Apple have not announced any new models yet, so the current models in the shops are still the latest. Majority of shopper will not know about rumours of new mac update next Monday.

They still sell the old models in the shops even when the new models are available online. For example, last year I went to the Apple store a day after the MBA was refreshed. They did not have the new MBA in stock and were still selling the old ones, despite the fact that you could order the new one online. It was in store 3 days after the refresh online.
