I just bought a new MacBook Pro 2016 13 inch with touch bar. In Microsoft Powerpoint , I have experienced the screen flashing when on the "slide show" mode. I called the apple support, and they told me to bring the Mac in the genius bar for an assessment, however, he said that it is most likely a software issue from Microsoft as the problem is only happening in Microsoft Powerpoint. Has anyone else experinced the same issue?? what do you think I should do ?? is it possible to be a hardware problem?? thanks in advance for any reply

It's possible it's a hardware problem, it's most likely it's a software problem that Microsoft will need to address. I think you should take the advice of Apple and take it in for assessment they will replace it if it has an issue.

I can confirm I get exactly what you described, very annoying. It only happens in the slide show mode you're right.

I also get it on Youtube videos occasionally, but it tends to happen just once on them and the video will then be normal, unlike powerpoint.

Curious as well, do you hear like a little crackle sound on the right side of the macbook every so often? I'm pretty sure the speakers are not poppying or breaking, but it does happen usually 2-3 times a day.

Also, when you boot up your macbook after a shutdown, is the background on the login screen a random picture, not your desktop background? Today when I was booting it up, my background on the login screen was a past exam paper I downloaded last week LOL!

My girlfriends 13' Escape does this in PowerPoint as well. She was freaking out about it because she waited so long for Apple to release this thing. It's only happening in PowerPoint so far for her.

MS has mentioned that an update will be rolling out to take advantage of the TouchBar, hopefully they will correct this issue. Also there's been other reports of TB anomalies in OS X, so an Apple fix may correct this as well.
