One thing to keep in mind is that while this display supports usb-c, it will not charge your 13” MacBook Pro, whereas the LG UltraFine that they collaborated with Apple will do. I don’t know if that matters to you or not, just wanted to point it out.

May be I'm not working hard enough, but my 15" late 2016 maxed out is being charged.
And it can be used in portrait - mode (the ultrafine can not do that).

That could certainly be it. You will always get a small amount of power from the USB-C port, but not the 35/85w that the Apple one produces.

Are you running in Clamshell mode?

On the other hand the ultrafine has the better resolution and "more light".

Clamshell mode from time to time, didn't compare. I watch a video on the macbook pro monitor and take notes on the lg monitor, the battery was never drained - at first I couldn't believe it - a nice surprise.

Yes, it will work beautifully. The 2016 13” MacBook Pro can run two 4K displays via USB-C. Enjoy!

Wait I need to buy a 2015 Pro so I can use HDMI and my SD card slot

(sorry couldn't help myself)

I'm looking forward to the day I can move out of this small place and get a set up with a couple of high-resolution monitors.
