Does anyone know if there is an actual speed difference between the 512 ssd and the 1tb? I want to order one but I can't find any facts and apple, being notoriously (and dare I say suspiciously ;) secretive hasn't given their "geniuses" any info.

I am open to and appreciate all responses but please separate conjecture from facts. Don't claim confidence in your point if you aren't 100% factually sure bc that will just be misleading!

Thanks in advance for the responses!

I _think_ the 1TB is a bit faster (it's usually the case anyway, on the same brand / line the larger the better) but you won't see any tremendous changes.

My 512gb does 1855mb/s write 2000mb/s read so we can conclude that there's no real difference

Thanks for all the replies, it does seem that the speed differences between them, if they exist, are unmeasurable.

Edit: Nm, possibly not considering the speed limits of the BlackMagic software, thanks for pointing that out Viper.

Black magic tops out at 2000 MB/s. You guys need to use Aja to actually see if there's a difference.

My understanding is that 512GB and 1TB have the same read/write speeds but that the 256GB is slower.
