These results show the 13" as having 4-cores. When I optioned my touch-bar 13" with 2.9/2.3ghz i7, it says only two cores. Can someone chime in if the new 13" touch-bar model has a quad-core processor or not?

No, the 13" MBPs definitely have a 2 core, hyper-threaded processor. You can find lots of details about the processors here:

i7 mobile:

i5 mobile:

You were looking at the i7-6700HQ, which is a 45W CPU for the 15" MBP. None of the 15W or 28W processors have 4 physical cores.

Seems like zero reason for me to upgrade from my rMBP 15 2014 2,5ghz cpu wise.

Macbook Pro is not something you're expected to upgrade every year, it's all good. I'm still with my early 2011, waiting for my new toy to arrive.

I'm thinking of returning my 13 with the base 2.9 i5 (16gb ram, 512 ssd) and getting the i7 version. It seems it performs a lot better that the 2.9 i5. Wonder what the difference in battery life would be.

Did anyone else realize the 2.8 GHz 2015 MBP 15 (i7-4980HQ) is faster than the fastest 2016 MBP 16 (i7-6920HQ)? See here:

https://browser.primatelabs.com/v4/cpu/compare/990489?baseline=1046592

A 2015 MBP 15 2.8GHz 16GB 1TB is $564 cheaper then the 2016 MBP 15 2.9GHz 16GB 1TB. There is a 15 day return policy btw.

My 2016 MacBook Pro 15 2.9 460 Mac OS 10.12.2 scores 4459 on Geekbench 4.04 and 57300 on the CL score
after there last update 10.12.3 the CPU went to 4530 and the CL score dropped to 47350
So there was a massive drop on the 10.12.3 update for the CL score as noted by a few other people.
I have had no corruption with the 460 Card. I received my MacBook about the middle of Feb after a 2 week wait.

So Sorry it is faster then the 2015 model.

Have you realized that CPU benchmarks do not reflect real world performance? There is a lot more to a computer than the CPU.

Real world performance is all but impossible to test as use cases vary from user to user, hence we for benchmark tests that allow us to compare hardware based on the same test. Yes it does not reflect real world but allows us to gauge which unit performs a test better.

Car magazine tests based on going around a track also do not reflect daily driving , though will give you an indicator of which is techinically quicker
